Murat Çizgel, Head of the Industrialization Department of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey's Defence Industries Directorate (SSB), met with members of the OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) at a get-together meeting. Stating that OSSA serves as an example for defense-related clusters in Turkey, Murat Çizgel said, “I thank OSTİM and OSSA for their contributions to the defense industry. We support clustering. Cluster more thoroughly. As you become stronger, it means the defense industry is becoming stronger. As the defense industry becomes stronger, it means the country is becoming stronger. We don't believe the defense industry can grow without cluster growth. Your performance is also an indicator for Turkey.”
OSSA Chairman A. Mithat Ertuğ reminded that the Ankara Aerospace and Aviation Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (HAB) is planned to help SMEs in OSTİM grow tenfold. Ertuğ stated that OSSA members need production facilities of 15-20 thousand square meters and support for these facilities.
The program concluded with visits to OSSA member companies Dora Makina, Telemar, and Seyir Savunma.
