Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov stated that Turkish companies have achieved great success in the defense and aerospace industry, adding, "We want to continue working on promoting our activities and exploring future cooperation options."
Ravil Zaripov, who came to Ankara for a series of meetings, visited OSTİM together with officials from the Kazan Helicopters Factory and executives from a technology development company. The Tatarstan delegation met with members of the OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) and listened to presentations on the capabilities of OSSA members.
“We want to continue working together”
Ravil Zaripov noted that during his contacts in Turkey, he also visited ASELSAN, Havelsan, and TAI. Expressing that they saw opportunities for collaboration in the field of high and innovative technology, the Tatar statesman said, “What we saw here was extremely interesting and striking. We were pleased to see that they have achieved great success in the aviation industry, in the production of helicopters and equipment, in the production of night vision devices, and in the manufacturing of aircraft identification systems.”
Zaripov, who invited industrialists from OSTİM to the capital Kazan, conveyed the message, "We want to introduce our activities and continue working on what kind of cooperation we can establish in the future."
“All the necessary ecosystem exists in Ankara”
OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın pointed out that Ankara has the broadest ecosystem in the defense and aerospace sector. “I believe that if we can discover each other, a great deal of business and potential can emerge from this,” said Chairman Aydın, adding: “The helicopter factory in Kazan could make an investment in Ankara. All the necessary ecosystem exists here. Let's plan a joint product to be manufactured in Ankara. OSTİM is an ambitious region in defense and aerospace; besides that, it is also a region where cluster organizations operating in medical, construction and industrial machinery, energy, rail systems, and communication technologies are located. This is a talent pool.”
Aydın, reminding that TAI has a liaison office in OSTİM, stated that they could establish a similar liaison office for the Kazan Helicopter Factory as well.
“We would like to see cooperation”
OSSA Board Member Muhsin Mardin pointed out that among the cluster members are companies producing for Russia and Central Asian countries in the fields of civil aviation and automobiles. Mardin stated, “We would like to see cooperation with our members working in the aviation industry. I kindly request that you be aware of our capabilities. Hopefully, we will establish cooperation in Kazan or Ankara in the coming days.”
OSSA companies also introduced themselves through presentations at the meeting.
