The first field tests of ŞAHİ 209 Block-2 were successfully completed.

The first field tests of the ŞAHİ 209 Block 2, an upgraded version of the ŞAHİ 209 electromagnetic cannon system capable of firing up to 12 kilometers, designed and developed by our member company YETEKNOLOJİ, have been successfully completed.

The ŞAHİ 209 Block 1, the only "directed energy weapon" officially accepted by the Presidency of Defense Industry and developed entirely with national resources, could launch a 300-gram projectile to a range of 12 kilometers. ŞAHİ 209 Block 2, an upgraded version of the ŞAHİ 209, has begun field testing and successfully completed its first firing. When completed, the ŞAHİ 209 Block 2 will be able to launch projectiles to a range of 50 kilometers.
