The 6th Ordinary General Assembly, 2nd Meeting of OSSA was held at the OSTİM OSB Conference Hall with the participation of a sufficient quorum.

OSSA's synergy has positioned Roketsan in OSTİM

OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın, drawing attention to the importance of clustering, said, "We support clustering activities by following developments all over the world and strongly believing in the concepts of cooperation, synergy, and joint competition."

Stating that they attach great importance to the defense and aerospace sector, Orhan Aydın emphasized that OSSA serves as an example for other clusters in Turkey and gave the following messages to the cluster members: “It is a source of pride and honor for us to be a part of and host these diligent efforts you are making. OSSA's merit lies in bringing together people who are full of substance and who cooperate and join forces. The production of the mine-clearing machine sold to Azerbaijan began with the efforts of OSTİM and OSSA. With the synergy of OSSA, Roketsan is positioning its entire supply system in OSTİM. Here, the OSSA ecosystem is doing the defense work. As OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, we are ready to do whatever is necessary for you.”

“We are delighted to be able to contribute to our members”

OSSA Chairman Mithat Ertuğ began his speech by expressing his sorrow at the loss of OSSA Vice Chairman Ali Han and cluster members Abdullah Akalın and Abdurrahman Ekinciler, and offered his condolences to their families and loved ones, praying for God's mercy upon the deceased.

Ertuğ stated that OSSA has been trying to support its members through activities such as supplier days, fairs and bilateral business meetings, trainings and government-supported projects, which they carried out both face-to-face before the pandemic and online during the pandemic period.

Ertuğ, pointing to the localization rates exceeding 70% in the defense industry, said: “We are happy to see our member companies involved in these projects and to be able to contribute to them, even if only slightly. I would like to once again express my respect to our heroic SMEs who worked day and night during the pandemic, even working three shifts to meet the needs of the medical sector in addition to their own businesses.”

OSSA Coordinator Dr. Uğur Aydın read the cluster's 2019-2020 activity report and income and expenditure accounts. Aydın invited companies that are not yet members of the European Business Network to join, stating that they are ready to assist with the membership process. Dr. Aydın also informed the members about the 2021 work plan.

The Audit Committee reports for 2019-2020 were also read by Audit Committee member Utku Karaca.

Following their reading, the activity reports, income and expenditure accounts, and audit committee reports were opened for discussion and unanimously approved.
