Defence Services Asia Fair 2014 (DSA), one of the top 5 events in the world's defense and security sector, was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from April 14-17, 2014. OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA), participating with 8 URGE companies, signed a protocol with the Malaysian Turkish Business Association to play an active role in the regional market.

The fair, which brings together companies and stakeholders operating in the defense and security sector, was attended by major Turkish industrial companies such as TAI, TEI, SSM, HAVELSAN, and FNSS, as well as the OSTİM Defense and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA).

OSSA was represented by 8 companies at the event, which was organized under the coordination of the Undersecretariat of Defence Industry (SSM) and within the scope of the URGE project of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Turkey.

OSSA members, who participated in the event attended by 1,000 companies from over 50 countries, approximately 300 delegations from over 40 countries, and more than 25,000 visitors, held meetings and established connections with many companies, primarily from Malaysia.

A positive development occurred at the fair regarding the growth of OSSA's business network. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the cluster and the Malaysian Turkish Business Association (MTBA), who were invited to an information meeting attended by Trade Counselor Esat Durak. This agreement will facilitate profitable collaborations and partnerships that will enhance communication between Malaysia and Turkey.

The agreement aims to open communication channels between relevant parties operating in both countries; and to facilitate the organization of events such as seminars, conferences, meetings, workshops, and councils. It is reported that these efforts will accelerate the increase in trade volume between the two countries.
