OSSA has completed the regional Competition and Cluster Excellence training provided by the EU and received its certificate today.
OSSA coordinator Hilal UNAL successfully completed and received certification for the "Regional Competitiveness and Cluster Excellence Training Program," a program held by only two cluster managers in Turkey. Developed by the European Foundation for Cluster Excellence and conducted by EU experts and accredited trainers from the Aegean Exporters' Associations, the Regional Competitiveness and Cluster Excellence Training took place between February and June 2014. Participants learned about clustering models from the European Union and around the world, presented by successful international cluster managers, and learned how other countries utilize clustering models to develop specific sectors.
“We see that countries with successful development stories in the past have designed and implemented the clustering model very well. We have observed that a country develops its state policies around the same goal to develop a sector or create a global brand in a sector, and uses the clustering model to support small and medium-sized enterprises alongside its main industry in order to develop the sector,” said OSSA coordinator Hilal UNAL, adding that SMEs and SME support are the most important elements for developing a country's industry.
