At the meeting held in the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate Conference Hall, chaired by OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın, with OSTİM Board Vice Chairpersons Sıtkı Öztuna and Nihan Tuna as Board Members, OSSA's 2021-2022 activity report, income and expenditure accounts, and Audit Committee reports were unanimously approved. Following the evaluation of the 2023-2024 activities, the estimated budget, the annual membership fee, and the membership entrance fee, the election of the new Board of Directors and Audit Committee members (both regular and alternate) took place.

The opening speeches of the meeting were given by Ahmet Mithat Ertuğ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSSA, and Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM.

Ertuğ: “We have provided support to companies and sectors in many areas.”

OSSA Chairman Ahmet Mithat Ertuğ began his speech by saying, "I pray to God for mercy for those we lost in the earthquake disaster and offer my condolences to our country."

Ertuğ stated that OSSA, together with all relevant institutions and organizations, strives to support companies through training, consultancy, international trade fairs, supplier meetings, ICDDA events, etc., and that during the pandemic, they organized many online and physical training sessions, and provided support to companies and the sector in many areas such as ERP system installations and AS9100 certification.

Aydın: The most appropriate platform is clustering.

OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın said, “I offer my condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster and wish a speedy recovery to those who remain. Although we are far away, our hearts remain under the rubble. We are all affected. We are going through a difficult time, but life goes on.”

Aydın continued: “As OSTİM, we are a sensitive group, and during the earthquake, we transformed our hall into a crisis center and, using the resources of our companies, acted as intermediaries to deliver our aid to the relevant places. All the aid coming from abroad arrived at OSTİM. We had warehouses in 3 different locations. 140 trucks were stored and sorted in OSTİM and are being sent to the earthquake zones. We did this willingly and with pleasure. It was a mobilization of hearts. It happened through cooperation and unity of purpose. We are glad that we have these clusters. Whoever we asked for support from, they rushed to help.”

The most appropriate platform for a company to share its problems directly with its sector is a cluster. What is truly valuable is focusing on the sector, sincerely working hard, and creating value for our companies, our country, the sector, and the world. I believe OSSA has been able to achieve this.

When we bring our clusters together, we can communicate problems to the relevant state institutions and solve many issues. We prepare reports and submit them to the relevant authorities. Individually, business is conducted by breaking things down and destroying things. But we can't get anywhere with that. There will be competition, but we will do this competition collaboratively. Let's come together, sell, export, etc., so that everyone can grow the pie together and win. The magic approach here is to contribute to our country and humanity by creating value and competing collaboratively. Money is nothing. It doesn't save a life. If we can create a livable world by producing properly, honestly, sharing, agreeing, and compromising, it can become meaningful by ensuring everyone's happiness. Otherwise, we will all watch the consequences of one person crying and another laughing together in unrest. I think we can live in a peaceful world if we all put our efforts into it. Many people have put in a lot of effort in OSSA's management. This cluster has successfully come this far, and I would like to thank Mr. Mithat, the board of directors, and those who will take on roles in the future.”

Polat: “We are working for the sector”

Speaking on behalf of OSTİM Technical University at the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Polat, said, “As one of the institutions that most strongly supports the defense industry ecosystem, our university works for the defense and aerospace field with its undergraduate and graduate studies. Due to being a technical university and being within the industry, we are particularly interested in the defense and aerospace field with new methods and studies. We work for the sector with applied graduate programs that we have developed together with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), primarily OSSA.”
