As a continuation of its sustainable quality management approach, FNSS initiated the "FNSS Certified Supplier" certification process by certifying high-performing suppliers, and presented the certificates to the supplier companies at a ceremony.
At the same ceremony, FNSS Defence Systems Inc. signed the "National Quality Movement Declaration of Intent" with the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer), stating its commitment to adopting and implementing the fundamental concepts of excellence within its organization. This signing, which took place at a ceremony attended by representatives and officials from the Undersecretariat of Defence Industry, the Ministry of National Defence, the Turkish Armed Forces, SaSaD, ASO, and OSTİM, emphasized that the compass guiding FNSS on its path toward its future vision is the "principles of continuous improvement and excellence."
In his speech at the ceremony, FNSS General Manager Kadir Nail Kurt stated that the main purpose of certifying these companies was to create a common quality culture based on mutual trust with all suppliers by establishing an effective, efficient, sustainable and systematic approach to the supply management process, and to ensure zero defective material purchases in the future.
Kurt stated that in the first stage of the certification process, which is carried out in three main categories: administrative structure, quality management system and practices, and production and operational capabilities, a total of 15 supplier companies were entitled to receive the "FNSS Approved Supplier Company" certificate, valid for two years. He also noted that the certification process is ongoing for new applications and that the certification process will be carried out continuously and periodically by the FNSS Quality Assurance Department.
11 out of 15 companies are from OSSA.
Speaking at the ceremony, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone President Orhan Aydın said that in the past, industrialists were told "you can't do this," and that producers were made to believe this, adding that FNSS's work has enabled people to say "Turkish people, Turkish engineers can do this." Aydın continued his speech as follows:
“We are a small industrial zone focused on production. We are advocates and representatives of domestic industry. However, we see that this ‘you can’t do it’ mentality still prevails in bureaucracy and many other areas. When we say it can be done, we always give examples from the defense industry, from large organizations like FNSS, Aselsan, and TAI. Here, a Turkish defense industry company, hand in hand with its suppliers, is asserting its ambition to become a global company. This is a success to be applauded. As representatives of the sub-industry, we are proud of this success of our main industry. We state that we, along with the pioneers in OSTİM, are ready to support and empower an organization that has declared itself a pioneer in its field.”
