The meeting, held at the Ostim administrative building, was attended by Aslan Yalçın Keçeci, Vice President of Mensan A.Ş., Ali Öztürk, General Coordinator of Defense Industry Projects at Mensan A.Ş., and Ruben Rodriguez Usero, Supply Manager of Expal/Spain, on behalf of the visiting company. Usero stated that their company, which procures various sub-components for ammunition production from different sources, wanted to meet with OSSA companies to conduct preliminary research on which areas of production they could have carried out in Turkey.
Aslan Yalçın Keçeci, Vice President of Mensan A.Ş., briefly introduced Maxam Group - Expal as follows: “Expal, one of Europe's leading ammunition manufacturers, produces all types of light, medium, and large caliber ammunition. In addition, it performs depot-level maintenance on military armored/unarmored land vehicles, and in the aviation sector, it carries out modification and depot-level maintenance of weapon delivery systems for aircraft. The company has de-explosive disposal (FEK) facilities in various countries around the world for the purpose of removing explosives from ammunition.”
Expal's production areas were briefly summarized as follows:
Ammunition and energetic materials (various explosives),
Technology development in ammunition and weapons,
Ammunition sorting and separation processes,
Modernization of military vehicles (aircraft release systems, military armored vehicles). Following the meeting, OSSA member companies operating in Ostim were visited, and views were exchanged regarding possible collaboration opportunities.
