ASELSAN's Power Union Summit, organized with the theme of nationalization to bring together its subcontractors and manufacturing companies, began with the participation of Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, President of the Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, and over 2,000 industrialists.
The summit was attended by OSTİM Chairman of the Board Orhan Aydın, OSTİM Defense and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) Chairman of the Board A. Mithat Ertuğ, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Regional Manager Adem Arıcı, and numerous industrialists from OSTİM.
ASELSAN Chairman and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün stated that they are trying to create a common synergy by meeting with industrialists. He noted that they are developing their sensitivity to growth and expansion together with their solution partners, saying, “We have carried out a supply chain transformation study within ASELSAN. The new supply model will be operational on May 1st. We will introduce a simple and agile structure focused on nationalization.”
Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar emphasized the importance of national design and production for Turkey's security. Minister Akar continued: “We are protecting our borders with domestically produced anti-drone systems. The number of Turkish companies in the world's top 100 list is increasing every day. In 2018, the defense and aerospace sector's turnover exceeded 7 billion dollars, and exports reached 2.5 billion dollars.”
Explaining the ministry's procurement model, Akar said they had developed an approved supplier system to make purchases from domestic producers in military factories.
