  • OSSA will continue to increase its support and contribution to national projects, as it has done to date.

  • OSSA is in constant dialogue with TUSAŞ, and proposed solutions and potential contributions are always mutually evaluated.

  • Correspondence between the two stakeholders has been misrepresented and leaked to the public.

  • We firmly believe that with the MMU project, which is being carried out with the sweat and toil of our own engineers and workers, our own aircraft will take its place in the skies as soon as possible.

On January 7, 2021, Deutsche Welle Turkish published an article titled "Currency Crisis in the Defense Industry" by Eray Görgülü.

The news report, based on a letter written by the OSTİM Defense and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) to Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ), suggests that "TUSAŞ, which will carry out the National Combat Aircraft project in the facilities inaugurated by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is experiencing a currency crisis with its subcontractors."

The publication of such a news item after the opening of the facilities where the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) project, one of the most important projects of our country in the field of defense and aviation, will be carried out, is intended to harm both the institutions and companies that are working with all their might for the survival of our country and the progress of the project.

In all meetings, discussions, and correspondence between our cluster and TUSAŞ, a distinguished institution of our country that mobilizes all its resources for our independence and future, sectoral problems, proposed solutions, and potential contributions are always mutually evaluated in terms of financial matters and production processes. The article, which was distorted and presented to the public by Deutsche Welle Turkish, is also a matter related to our consultations with our stakeholder TUSAŞ and projects funded abroad.

The correspondence between two stakeholders who work tirelessly for the survival of our country has been misrepresented to the public. We emphasize that the news report went beyond its intended purpose and we condemn the approach taken in the report.

We will mobilize all our resources.

OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA), together with its 283 qualified member SMEs, will, as always, mobilize all its resources to support TUSAŞ in achieving the goals set in both the MMU and other national projects. These projects significantly contribute to developing the vision of SMEs and subcontractors, enhancing their production and technological capabilities, training skilled labor, and increasing employment opportunities for business partners.

We firmly believe that with the MMU project, which is being carried out with the sweat and toil of our own engineers and workers, our own aircraft will take its place in the skies as soon as possible.

We present this information to the public.

Best regards

OSSA Board of Directors
