OSSA, Turkey's first defense and aerospace cluster, showcased its contributions to domestic and national projects, as well as its products and services, to participants at IDEF'21.

The cluster, which participated in the fair with a stand together with OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate and OSTİM Technical University, attracted great interest from domestic and foreign visitors.

At the OSSA stand, Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of OSTİM Technical University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM, Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, Rector of OSTİM Technical University, and Mithat Ertuğ, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSSA, explained the work and projects being developed in OSTİM to the visitors.

As in every fair, OSSA made its stand available to all member companies, both visitors and participants. With 57 of its members participating with stands at IDEF, OSSA showcased its capabilities in R&D/design, software, composites, electronics, electromechanics, cabling, machining, sheet metal forming, surface treatment, testing/calibration, coating/painting, optical systems, hydraulic systems, machine/equipment manufacturing, and unmanned systems, as well as the production of many end products and subsystems for land, air, and sea platforms.

SMEs want to become members

OSSA also caught the attention of non-member SMEs at IDEF’21. SMEs that were aware of the cluster's activities and impressed by the events at the fair applied for membership to become part of the OSSA ecosystem.

The cluster's stand hosted delegations from Albania, India, France, Portugal, Ukraine, Sudan, and many other countries throughout the fair. Meetings focused on collaboration opportunities, technology transfer, and joint participation in tender processes, while international delegations requested visits to Ankara.

As part of the event, meetings were also held with the main contractors of the defense industry. OSSA shared its solution proposals with numerous companies and institutions, including TUSAŞ, TEI, Turkish Space Agency, FNSS, Aselsan, and Havelsan, through over 80 meetings and discussions.

All participants are invited to ICDDA.

During the fair, foreign delegations and company officials, as well as local companies and institutions, were informed about the Industrial Cooperation Days in Defence and Aerospace (ICDDA) with special ICDDA brochures and visuals prepared for IDEF’21.

International delegations indicated their interest in participating in the event, which will be held from October 12-14, 2022; they shared the view that the bilateral business meetings, which will take place over three days, will play an important role in fostering cooperation between countries.
