A delegation consisting of Ostim Organized Industrial Zone managers, the Rector of Çankaya University, and managers of sector clusters established in Ostim, conducted various inspections in Eskişehir within the framework of projects carried out by industrialists and Anadolu University.
The delegation also met with members of the Eskişehir Aviation Cluster and received information about the activities in the aviation sector in Eskişehir. During the meeting held in the ESO Assembly Hall, ESO President Savaş Özaydemir informed the participants about the projects and the city's industry. Özaydemir stated that industrialists in Eskişehir have achieved great things in Türkiye and that all their efforts are aimed at taking the city to even higher levels.
Özaydemir explained that within this scope, as ESO (Eskişehir Chamber of Industry), they have identified the sectors that will stand out in Eskişehir's industry in the future and have carried out special studies for these sectors, saying, "Ceramics, machinery, aviation, and rail systems are sectors that will stand out in the future of our city. The clusters that we spearheaded are continuing their work intensively."
Özaydemir stated that Eskişehir is an important aviation city, particularly with its high production capacity and projects in the aviation sector, and emphasized that they are open to all kinds of cooperation in this field.
Özaydemir, pointing out that "an aviation valley could be created between Eskişehir and Ankara," said, "While you produce aircraft fuselages in Ankara, we produce aircraft engines and parts here. Let's create synergy and elevate these two cities to the top in our country's aviation sector. We have the capability to do this."
"We are ready to cooperate."
OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone President Orhan Aydın also stated that they are closely familiar with the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone and that what is being done there is commendable, adding that they have many things in common.
Aydın also pointed out that as an institution they are open to all kinds of cooperation in the aviation and defense fields, saying, "We are open to all kinds of competition within cooperation. In these days when the issue of producing our own aircraft is being discussed, we can contribute to this by collaborating on projects we can undertake together. Furthermore, if we manage to come together on issues such as domestic metro and train production, it will not be difficult for us to realize great projects."
Akın Duman, the head of the Eskişehir Aviation Cluster, also provided information about aviation activities in Eskişehir. Kenan Işık, a member of the cluster, gave a presentation on the capabilities and production of the members of the Eskişehir Aviation Cluster.
The meeting was attended by Çankaya University Rector Prof. Dr. Ziya Güvenç, Anadolu University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Cavcar, OSSA Aviation Cluster President Mithat Ertuğ, OSTİM OSB and ESO Board members, industrialists, and academics.
The delegation members then visited Anadolu University, where they met with the administrators of the Faculty of Engineering, the Ceramics Research Center, and the departments working on Aviation, Space, and Earthquake studies, and received information.
