OSSA Cluster's membership will be finalized at the EACP General Assembly to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from October 24-28. EACP (European Aerospace Cluster Partnership) is a structure bringing together 40 aerospace clusters from 16 European countries, and it is managed by the Hamburg Aerospace Cluster.
Representing approximately 90% of the European aviation industry, EACP aims to carry out joint projects, develop collaborations between clusters, share knowledge, and consequently develop European aviation.
OSSA Coordinator Hilal ÜNAL will be presenting OSSA at the EACP meeting in Lisbon from October 24-28, explaining the contributions OSSA will make to the EACP. ÜNAL will highlight OSSA's extensive database, opportunities for mutual cooperation, partnerships in R&D projects, and the contributions OSSA will make to the European aviation sector by enhancing European technology, human resources, and quality, while also reducing costs.
OSSA's Clustering Achievements:
OSSA has been awarded the URGE project best practice activities by the Turkish Ministry of Economy for two consecutive years; providing support to its member SMEs in training, consultancy, and certification. During the project, SMEs implemented ERP systems; obtained AS 9100 Aviation quality certificates; and reached the level of internationally recognized companies.
The OSSA Cluster, which was deemed successful by the European Cluster Secretariat in a benchmarking study for excellence in clustering and awarded a bronze medal at a ceremony held at the Turkish Ministry of Economy, received its Bronze Certificate in 2014.
The Undersecretariat of Defence Industries awarded OSSA the 2014 Defence Industry Special Award for its clustering activities and the successful execution of the Ankara Defence and Aerospace Industrial Cooperation Days (ICDDA) event in 2013.
At the 2015 Paris Airshow, OSSA signed a cooperation protocol with the Aerospace Valley cluster, founded in 2005, which operates in the fields of aviation, space, and embedded systems and has more than 850 members from both industry and academia.
Having completed the Regional Competitiveness and Cluster Excellence Training provided by the European Union and receiving its certificate, OSSA is one of only two clusters in Türkiye to possess this document. OSSA has proven that it conducts clustering activities in accordance with European standards through its clustering successes.
