OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) had a strong presence at IDEF International Defence Industry Fair 2025, held between July 22-26, 2025. Throughout the five days of the event, member companies located in the OSSA Pavilion were visited, sectoral developments were evaluated, and discussions were held on collaboration opportunities.
On the first day of the fair, Mesan and CDK Defense, members of OSSA, achieved a significant success by signing strategic cooperation agreements at the Azerbaijan-Turkey cooperation ceremony. The day also began with visits to all member companies participating with stands at the fair.
On the second day, the OSSA stand hosted important visitors. Meetings were held with figures such as Major General Murat Bulut, Head of Inspection and Evaluation at the Gendarmerie General Command; Mehmet Avcı, General Director of Supply Services at the Ministry of National Defence; Seyit Ardıç, President of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO); Dr. İsmail Demir, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KARDEMİR; and Fahrettin Öztürk, Deputy General Manager of TAI and Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEI. During the day, Gürbağ Defense, one of the member companies, also contributed to OSSA's sectoral successes by signing a strategic cooperation agreement.
The third day of the fair was marked by a visit to the OSSA stand by the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, and the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. During these visits, the capabilities of the members were showcased. Furthermore, discussions were held with representatives from institutions such as Sıtkı Varlı, Head of Strategy and Internal Audit at ASFAT, and Prof. Dr. Cenk Aktaş, Head of the Defense Industry Academy, regarding potential collaborations. Member companies Emge and Nero Industries also took a significant step that day by signing strategic cooperation agreements.
The fourth day began with a visit to the OSSA stand by the Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey, Mehmet Şimşek. Following this, the Minister paid official visits to Rear Admiral Alper Yeniel, Head of General Staff General Planning Principles, Prof. Dr. İhsan Kaya, Deputy President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), and Murat Çizgel, Head of the Industrialization Department of the SSB, to discuss cooperation opportunities. During the day, strategic cooperation agreements were signed between Asisguard and GES Engineering, and Karel and Elsis.
On the fifth and final day of IDEF 2025, Brigadier General Ercan Eroğlu, Acting Director General of Technical Services at the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, visited the OSSA stand and discussed potential collaborations.
Throughout the fair, foreign companies were also visited at their stands, the capabilities of OSSA member companies were introduced, and initial contacts were established for international collaborations.
