OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) held its 3rd Ordinary General Assembly Meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives from the public and private sectors, NGOs, and numerous delegates.
The General Assembly was attended by Deputy Undersecretary of Defence Industry Sedat Güldoğan, TAI General Manager Muharrem Dörtkaşlı, HAVELSAN General Manager Sadık Yamaç, ROKETSAN General Manager Selçuk Yaşar, ASO President Nurettin Özdebir, as well as bureaucrats from the Turkish Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, and high-ranking officials from companies such as ASELSAN.
OSSA Chairman Mithat Ertuğ addressed the period's activities in his opening speech. Referring to preparations for the 2016 ICDDA event, Ertuğ stated, "The secret to our success is working together." Following Ertuğ's speech, the OSSA Activity Report was shared. The Audit Report and income and expenditure accounts were also read to the members.
OSSA Coordinator Hilal Ünal Türkan provided information regarding the company's goals for 2015 and 2016. Stating their desire to expand their presence in the civil aviation sector, Türkan noted their plans to open a branch in Istanbul and participate in a total of 10 international defense and aviation fairs through UR-GE projects during the 2015-2016 period. The Board of Directors' Activity Report, Audit Report, and income and expenditure accounts were presented to the General Assembly for approval. Following the unanimous acceptance of the reports, elections were held for the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee. The Board of Directors and the Audit Committee were formed as follows: Board of Directors: A. Mithat Ertuğ, Ali Han, Güner Koçak, Serhat Ünal, Sefer Erseven, Muhsin Mardin, and Mehmet Alkan. Audit Committee: Halil Avcı, Böke Şahin, Atilla Sevil.
OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın stated that they brought together SMEs working in the defense and aerospace sector in OSTİM with OSSA for cooperation and synergy. Expressing that the main industry supports SMEs, Aydın said, “This is the most important reason why the sector has emerged in a disciplined manner. There is an ecosystem in Ankara created by the main industry and the sub-industry. As OSTİM, I thank our main manufacturers and SSM. Because they have made a great contribution to the quality production of the companies in our region.”
