OSTİM Board Chairman and OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees Chairman Orhan Aydın, OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Board Members Mithat Ertuğ and Behzat Zeydan, OSTİM Defense and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) Board Chairman İbrahim Yarsan, Anatolian Rail Transportation Systems Cluster (ARUS) Coordinator Dr. İlhami Pektaş, OSTİM Technical University Vocational School Deputy Director Dr. Özgür Tekaslan, OSTİM Technical University Aerospace Engineering Department Head Assoc. Dr. Hande Yavuz and academics visited TUSAŞ Engine Industry Inc. (TEİ) General Manager and Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Mahmut F. Akşit.
During the visit to TEI's Eskişehir facilities, Akşit provided the OSTİM delegation with information about the company's structure, projects, and national engine development efforts.
Akşit noted that they produce products and services for almost every company operating in the aviation engine sector worldwide, saying, "One out of every two aircraft in the world flies with TEI parts. We produce approximately 1,500 different parts for 50 different engine programs."
Prof. Dr. Mahmut F. Akşit listed the company's areas of activity as: parts and module manufacturing, engine assembly, testing, maintenance and overhaul, engine design, and product development.
Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the OSTİM Board of Directors and Chairman of the OSTİM Technical University Board of Trustees, also stated that national engine production is a critical area and emphasized that TEI is a source of pride for our country in this regard.
Aydın stated that Prof. Dr. Mahmut F. Akşit and his colleagues have made significant contributions to Turkey's national goals, adding, "As OSTİM OSB, our companies, and OSTİM Technical University, we are ready to contribute to and cooperate with Mr. Akşit's and TEI's work. In this context, it is very valuable for us that their experience is transferred to OSTİM Technical University students, our SMEs, and academic studies."
As part of their visit program, the OSTİM delegation also conducted inspections at the TEI facilities.
