Turkish Space Agency President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım visited the OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA).
Emphasizing that they attach importance to clusters and have made contact with them, President Yıldırım said, “OSSA is important for us. We want to learn about OSSA's technical capabilities and identify cooperation opportunities. There is a lot of work that can be done in the space field. We want to guide and support companies in the space research process. We will also meet with other clusters.”
The capabilities of clusters will be recognized.
Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım, explaining that as an agency they target all processes related to space, pointed out that tens of thousands of components related to space are produced, and said, “We need to know the capabilities of clusters so that we can work with them to meet our needs. If aviation quality standards can be achieved in production, it can also be achieved in space. Inform us when your members acquire a new production capability. We will do our best to develop our national capacity in the field of space.”
We focused on international markets.
OSSA Chairman Mithat Ertuğ noted that the cluster member manufacturers possess quality and certification documents such as AS 9100, which are required by global aviation industry standards.
Ertuğ noted that they are working to improve the skills and qualifications of their members, saying, "We have shifted our focus abroad. We are concentrating on how we can get more business from global companies and how we can evaluate business potential."
OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın also suggested to Agency President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım that an information meeting be organized as soon as possible, where OSSA members could meet and get to know the production capabilities of the companies closely.
