Mr. İrfan Özsert, Head of Industrialization Department at the Presidency of Defence Industries of the Republic of Turkey (SSB), and his team met with the Board of Directors of the OSTİM Defence and Aerospace Cluster (OSSA) at the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone Directorate.
OSTİM Chairman Orhan Aydın and OSSA Chairman Mithat Ertuğ briefed İrfan Özsert on OSTİM's work in the defense industry.
OSTİM Board Chairman Orhan Aydın drew attention to the successes of the Presidency of the Defense Industry in industrialization practices. He stated, “The Presidency of the Defense Industry's industrialization model needs to be applied in other sectors as well. We are presenting the Presidency of the Defense Industry's model as an example to all our public institutions.”
Chairman Aydın also briefed İrfan Özsert on OSTİM's other sectoral clusters. Aydın stated that OSTİM has seven sectoral clusters, and that these clusters are solution partners in many domestic and national projects in the sectors of construction and industrial machinery, defense and aerospace, renewable energy, medical, rail systems, rubber, and communication technologies.
OSSA Coordinator Dr. Uğur Aydın explained the clustering activities and the capabilities of member firms. Providing information about the OSSA Member Guide, which details the skills and capabilities of the cluster members, Aydın stated that they work to improve the exports of their members.
Irfan Özsert, Head of the Industrialization Department, noted that the OSSA Member Guide should be coordinated with the SSB's Capabilities Inventory. Özsert stated that they are working to improve the exports of defense industry firms.
Following the meeting, the Head of the Industrialization Department, İrfan Özsert, and his team visited OSSA member companies; EMGE, TÜZÜN KARDEŞLER, EKİNOKS-AG, KOLT and ER MAKİNA, to gather information.
